The Sound Of Music at New Alexandra Theatre
The Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, The Sound Of Music is at The New Alexandra theatre all this week and it is wonderful!
The story of Maria the singing governess to the seven Von Trapp children, who use their time in a concert to escape the Nazis is probably well known to everyone. The three hour movie is shown almost every Christmas. Last night’s performance did not last three hours, but it does stay true to the film.

This stage version starts with Maria singing The Sound Of Music, ends with the Von Trapp children singing So Long, Farewell and includes Sixteen Going on Seventeen, Do-Re-Mi, My Favourite Things, The Lonely Goatherd and a very powerful Climb Every Mountain. I loved it!
