Brilliant Bearwood…………
Warley Woods has played an important part in the lives of many people in Bearwood, and beyond, and lots of people have fond memories of the park going back decades. Over the last 18 months or so trained volunteers have been collecting these memories as part of an oral history project, and now they have been published in a book, which comes complete with a 37-track CD.
Viv Cole says, “Listening to all the stories has been an absolute delight and it has been a privilege to work on the book. I hope that we have managed to capture much of the joy that Warley Woods has bought to people over that time, recorded some of the names and stories of people who cared for the site, and recorded some sense of how the park looked over the last 100 years.
